Langbank is a hamlet in the Rural Municipality of Silverwood No. 123, reached by Highway 9. It received its post office in 1910, which marks the start of its life as a community.
The name comes from Langbank in Renfrewshire, Scotland. It was supposedly chosen by a Canadian National Railway official, who acted on the suggestion of Duncan Monroe.
